Hello everyone, how are you? I'm good thanks :)
So this is just a short blog post about some very funny comedians I have been watching on youtube, you should really check them out they are very funny :)

Firstly Russel Howard. He's a British stand up comedian who's only 30 years old yet he's already a panelist on English TV show Mock The Week, host of his own TV show, he's hosted Comedy Central's Edinburgh and Beyond and twice appeared on Live at the Apollo as well as a couple of other impressive achievements. If you haven't heard of him here are a few links to some of his performances, if you don't find him funny.... your crazy, no just kidding, but I think he's great, hope you enjoy!

Next, Gabriel Iglesias, a young mexican living in the US. He tells countless jokes comparing mexico to the USA and al you can think is... that is SO true! He also talks about many personal experiences which could never happen to anyone but him, as well as incorporating his ability to make funny voices and sounds. Enjoy!

Vegetarian

Hello everyone, I'm sorry the last post was so short and not very interesting but I really couldn't think of anything else, luckily this time I have thought of something better to write about :) I hope you enjoy!

So I'm vegetarian; I often get asked about it and many people don't understand how or why or I don't eat meat, so this is just a shortish post about it to clear up any questions. Firstly I just want to say I'm not vegetarian because of some religious belief or anything, it's more just because I want to. I was raised vegetarian although I ate fish, but no other meat, however two years ago I decided to give up all meat (including seafood.) The reason I don't eat meat isn't because I'm not allowed to, my brother who was also raised vegetarian now eats anything, I have decided to stay vegetarian though because I don't think it is necessary to kill animals for food especially as there are so many substitutes for it nowadays. Something that people often associate with being vegetarian is that your either on a diet, or wont get enough protein and therefore won't grow properly (well at least this is what the majority of my mexican relatives believe) but this isn't true at all, I'm perfectly healthy... ok that's a lie but the only reason I'm not is because I'm lazy and do no exercise, but the point is i'm not starving, or super skinny. It's quite funny actually, my mexican family wasn't happy with my brother not eating meat, they told my mum he wasn't getting enough protein and it was an unhealthy lifestyle, the main reason they said this was because my brother is supper skinny and they wanted to blame that on the lack of meat in his diet. Soon they couldn't say that anymore as I was a huge baby and then was a big toddler and am now a normal sized teen and I eat no meat at all, where as my brother who eats anything is still incredibly skinny. So as you can see it has nothing to do with it. Now I'm not writing this to push anyone in to being vegetarian as it is a personal choice and I know how horrible it is for people to constantly be bothered by people trying to convince me to eat meat. I mean if you do decide to stop eating meat thats great, congratulations, or even if you just decide to give up on some types of meat that's also awesome! If you don't, thats also fine, it's your life and you decide how you live it =)

Here is a link to the PETA website: http://www.peta.org.uk/ Check it out and try and help with the protection of animals in any way you can, not necessarily giving up on meat :)

Hey everyone, how have you been? I'm ok thank you, actually I feel great! :D
You may be wondering: "why is V.vison so annoyingly happy?" Well dear imaginary person asking odd questions, I'm happy because yesterday my boyfriend and I celebrated two weeks together. To you, random person reading my blog, it may be nothing, but to me, this is BIG. Firstly he's my first boyfriend, and secondly he's the awesomeist (yes I just invented a word... or spelled it wrong...either way, it's cool) person ever. So to commemorate this random moment in time, I wanted to make a lovey dovey post with the lyrics to the nicest song ever!!!

1,2,3,4 Lyrics
1,2 - 1 2 3 4
give me more lovin then i've ever had.
make it all better when i'm feelin sad.
tell me that i'm special even when i know i'm not.
make me feel good when i hurt so bad.
barely gettin mad,
im so glad i found you.
i love bein around you.
you make it easy,
as easy as 1 2,(1 2 3 4.)
theres only one thing two do three words four you.
i love you.
(i love you)
theres only one way two say those three words
and that's what i'll do.
i love you.
(i love you)
give me more lovin from the very start.
piece me back together when i fall apart.
tell me things you never even tell your closest friends.
make me feel good when i hurt so bad.
best that i've had.
im so glad that i found you.
i love bein around you.
you make it easy as easy as 1 2,(1 2 3 4.)
theres only one thing two do three words four you.
i love you.
(i love you)
theres only one way two say those three words
and that's what i'll do.
i love you.i love you
(i love you)
you make it easy, its easy as 1234
theres only one thing two do three words four you i love you
(i love you)
theres only one way two say those three words
thats what ill do i love you
(i love you)
i love you i love you.
one two three four i love you.
(iloveyou)
i love you
(i love you)

By the way I got these lyrics from http://www.6lyrics.com/12343-lyrics-plain_white_t_s.aspx
and listen to the actual song in http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m6pW_q1PvH0

I hope this cheered up your day ^^ if not... sorry... if so YAY!!!
Remember to appreciate your loved ones, you only have on life as you so live it to the fullest!

Cooking

Hello everyone!
I'm sorry for not having written in such a long time, and I know it's no excuse but as soon as I got back from Peru I was ill and then I admit I did have a week or two that I would have had time to write in but... to be honest... I'm kind of lazy... moving on, after that we have had a lot of work at school, it's those crazy weeks when all the projects are due and every one is super stressed out; so yea, that is why I haven't written until now. Also, just so you know, I probably wont be writing very often as exams are coming up, wish me luck!
Anyway, on with the post! Todays entry will actually be a little bit different, I hope you like it! Do leave comments below and let me know if you like it and I might do another similar one :)

So, I love to bake, cakes, cookies brownies, I love it! I have never cooked pies, pastries, mousses or cheesecake; I really want to learn how to cook these things to expand my knowledge on cooking so I'm going to try and make some type of the items stated before; today I made cheesecake.

I chose to do a London cheesecake form Nigella Lawson's "How to be a Domestic Goddess" which was a sarcastic present for my mum, as she hates to cook. So that you can try and make this delicious treat, here is a link that has the exact same recipe that I used, if you decide to test it out for yourselves leave me a comment and tell me how you did :D
So here is the link--> http://www.nigella.com/recipes/view/london-cheesecake-147

I started of with a positive mindset, maybe it would all be ok and come out perfectly for once! I soon realised this was not going to happen. The first step was to blitz the biscuits in to tiny crumbs for the base, but of course my liquidizer (I think that is what it is called) is broken, so I had to make the biscuits in to crumbs by hand... this means I hit them with a rolling pin, put them in a plastic bag and crushed them with a bowl, I tried everything and after an hour I gave up and just put the crumbs in as they where, even though they weren't quite ready. I went through the rest of the steps and put it in the oven, after 50 minutes it was exactly the same, another half an hour and then, I gave up and decided to just put the final layer on top, unfortunately it sank in to the rest and just blended, so again I gave up and put it in the fridge. A couple of hours later I found a couple of pieces of chocolate, I melted them and once they where cold I broke them in to pieces. The final product was... good!

It actually tasted ok, so yea I suggest you try it! If I could make it work anyone can!

Book Review on "Elsewhere" by Gabrielle Zevin

Elsewhere, by Gabrielle Zevin, is about the afterlife and the life death of a teenaged girl.
Liz is only 15 when she tragically passes away in a hit and run accident. At first she cant quite believe what has happened and attempts to contact the living, but as she spends more time in Elsewhere she makes friends and accepts her death.
Elsewhere you see, is just like earth, but the complete opposite at the same time. As complicated as hat sounds it is actually fairly simple. Once people die they awake on a Cruise, which takes them to Elsewhere. Once they arrive they are greeted by deceased relatives or friends and continue life as normal, but now they age backwards, they get younger. Once people reach a week old they are sent back down the river to earth and are born again.

This story starts off a bit slow but as it goes on it becomes impossible to put down with a couple of tear jerking moments and other parts which make you go “awww” no matter how hard you try not to. By the end you’ll want to read it over and over again.
It is written with a fairly simple vocabulary but the plot in itself is a little complicated so I would recommend it for anyone over the age of twelve, it is a must read and even if you don’t like it you have to admit it is a well written, gripping book.
Personally I would rate it seven out of ten (you have to keep in mind I mark quite low) and the only reason for that is that the story starts off a bit slow and I got a it bored, but once I got in to it I found I couldn’t put it down.

"Locomotor"

Hello, today I PROMISE it wont be a deep meaningful blog, instead a lighthearted fun one ☺
So, I had been planning a surprise for a friend on Sunday (this past one.) We were going to go to a concert of a band we really like and know. They are called “Locomotor”, I’ll put a link at the bottom to their websites so you can check out their music, it’s really good but….It’s in Spanish, I hope that doesn’t bother anyone, they are still really goon though. Anyway, where was I… oh yea so on Sunday we went to the drummers house and we hung out there for a bit until everyone else arrived. Then we all got on the bus to go to Megaplaza (a shopping center in Lima but really far away from anything else.) It was a long bus ride but really fun. We took a ton of sweets, bisquits and a couple of red bulls to share. On the way we talked, laughed and found out more about the guise, Gino the singer, Jeff the basest, Diego and Ricci the guitarists and Daniel the drummer. Once we arrived at Megaplaza the bus took about half an hour just finding the entrance and then we made our way to the food court where they were meant to play. We were taken backstage, which doesn’t really count as backstage as it was tiny tent type thing made of black material, which we all squished in to. Then we were kicked out as the guise had to change and finally we were allowed back in. We heard how they tested the instruments and found out that Jeff, the basest loves his base and always tests it out him self to the amusement of the rest of the band who think he’s just paranoid. Then at 7 the first band began to play, they were good an were a great start to the show (well it wasn’t really a show as it wasn’t with tickets or anything and it was just 2 bands.) at 7:30 “Locomotor” where called to the stage, as they walked past us we wished them luck and then the real part of the concert began. They all played their best and the crowd went wild. Girls where screaming and where obviously absolutely loving it, even some of the older members of the audience where moving their heads to the beat. Gino started to through out some free CD’s in to the crowd and even more screams could be hart, it was absolute madness! But so much fun! I think it was the best they have ever played!
Once the songs where over both bands sat at a long table and the line for autographs began. After a while my friends and I decided to help out so we asked the manager if we could help sell some of the CDs.
Finally the band got up to leave and we raced over in case they forgot about us, but as hard as we tried we couldn’t get to them. Girls pushed us out of the way and we were lucky to get in to the bus.
From there it was a fun ride back again to the drummers house. We arrived a little while later and then just waited for our taxi to take us back home.
It was a really fun night, and I’m very thankful to the guys from “Locomotor” for letting us go with them, It was an unforgettable experience, I hope all goes well in their musical and that I see them again someday.

Please check out their music, they are very talented and have a great future ahead of them.

Time is valuable

Hey, I know my past entry was really cheesy, and if you didn’t like it, I suggest you don’t read this one either as it is also rather sentimental.
Love is a beautiful thing (see, I told you it would be super sentimental and emotional!) I don’t know this from experience as, to be honest, I have none; but as I walk down the street, sit in the park or just look out of my window I can see so many couples that are obviously deeply in love; young and old, laughing, talking, holding hands or just being together. I cant help but smile when I see someone look at their loved one completely smitten, or when a couple are surrounded by a large group of people but all they seem to see is each other. It warms my heart when I see families going out together, playing or just being a solid, united family that truly need each other, and fully appreciate their time together.
So, now you may be wondering why I’m writing about lovey-dovey, sickly, too sweet kind of stuff. You may be thinking to yourselves “aww is V.vison in Love?” well dear imaginary person asking yourself if I am in love, the answer is no, buu I know. The real reason for my writing about Love is to remind people to appreciate every moment they spend with their loved ones, because everything can change in an instant.
A couple of days ago I was unpacking all of my things that just arrived in Venezuela. There were approximately 12 boxes, just for my room (it took forever!) So as I was looking through my stuff I found a small envolope that could be unfolded and once opened turned out to be a card with a photograph on it. It was a letter that my parents had made when I was born to let relatives and family friends know about my birth. It included basic information such as my weight, size a photo and also a message written by my mum saying how they were spending more time as a family, they were happy and everything seemed to be looking up. Then I looked at the date. It was dated to a couple of weeks before my dad passed away. Suddenly it hit me how fast everything must have happened. I was born, then three months later my dad got what was thought to be a throat infection and one week later he died. I’m sorry to bring up such a morbid theme, and it’s not so that you feel sorry for me because I hate that, but it made me realize how important it is to appreciate every moment you have with the people you care for, whether it be friends, family, a significant other or someone you think is just a good person. Don’t be shy, or scared to say what you feel to someone, don’t hold grudges, take advantage of the time you have together and that way you will have no regrets, well maybe some but the thing Is that you won’t have wasted your time angry at someone or being to scared to express your feelings toward them.
Ok this post ran on a little long... as always. So I’ll stop here. I hope you enjoyed, and remember, take advantage of the time you have with people! It will be worth it!

Friends for Life

Hello all, I'm sorry for not writing in such a long time, I've just had a lot on my mind.
On Friday the first bimester in my new school ended. I guess on average it was a pretty good first quarter of the year. So on Friday, once school had broken up, I was planning to go to Peru to see my friends. I was really worried though, because although they are all awesome people, everyone changes with time and no matter how hard I tried to think positive thoughts, bad thoughts kept crossing my mind, questions like what id they didn't like me anymore? what if they had changed? what if we had nothing to talk about? or what if things just weren't the same?
At school I smiled and said I couldn't wait... but deep down inside I was terrified.
Months turned in to weeks, weeks in to days, days in to hours; before I knew it I was sitting in the plane ready to set off to Peru. 4 hours went past in a flash and soon the air hostess was announcing our arrival, people were standing up, getting ready to leave, but I couldn't make my self stand up. I sat there clinging to the seat until the person next to me asked me to move so they could exit the plane. I stood, grabbed my bag and left as fast as I could. I went through immigrations, baggage pick up and finally to the big glass doors that separate the arrivals from their awaiting families and friends. I held my breath and walked out. There they were, the four girls that had helped me through tough times and with whom I had had enumerable adventures. They ran forward and hugged me. At that moment I could finally relax. I was home, with the bast friends I could ever ask for. Suddenly I knew they were the same and so was I. Nothing but my address had changed.
You see when you have friends as good as mine, with something as simple as a hug you know that nothing could ever end that friendship. Those are true friends for life.
"Friends are like stars, although you can't always see them, you know they are always there."
Carla, Lauren, Claudia and Vero <3 you are my stars, don't ever change, I don't know how I would live without you.

Halloween

Hello beautiful people who are nice enough to follow my blog :)
I'm a bit annoyed right now, internet is off at home and I had to go out to somewhere with computers to finish homework I should have done earlier but couldn’t be bothered.
Anyway, I don’t want to talk about that right now because, I’m in a good mood :D yay. I don’t know why, as there is no particular reason I should be this happy, but I am. Probably because it's only nineteen days until Halloween :D, yes I know what you’re thinking: "v.vison, what are you on about? Halloween is on the 31st of October, not on the 16th!”
The 16th, however, is the day my Peruvian friends (including Loro and Venado) and I will EPICALLY celebrate Halloween. Yes it sounds mad, and yes we will look really weird dressed up on a random day going around Peru, but you see, I love Halloween and I love to dress up, and I thought that I would be in Peru for it and was determined to have the most awesome Halloween day EVER, but unfortunately I have school… In Venezuela. When I found this out I was so disappointed, that my best friend, Venado, agreed that she would still do everything we wanted to do for Halloween (including dressing up) if I really wanted to, that’s what I call a proper best friend, being ok with looking stupid just to make me feel better. Of course, I acted like a mature young adult when she told me that the EPIC day would still happen… ok that’s a lie; I jumped up and danced (badly) in my room, and immediately started looking for outfits to buy for us.
After a couple of hours I narrowed the choices down to two, female super heroes, or cheerleaders. Venado had the final say and decided on cheerleading costumes. It took us a couple of weeks to decide which design to order, and finally I sent an e-mail to the company (in the UK) and ordered them. Unfortunately they take forever to be made, and I have no idea if they will arrive on time, so, Halloween may not be so EPIC after all. NO, I will not think pessimistically, it will happen and it will be awesome.
Anyway if the worst happens and the cheerleading uniforms don’t arrive, we still have a backup plan… any guesses as to what it may be? Ok, I’ll tell you… we’re going as 80’s chicks, oh yea, big hair, fluorescent clothes, and who could forget the leg warmers. So it’s decided this year’s Halloween will be EPIC, no matter what. Oh and what are all you guise going to dress up as on Halloween? Will you have any special early or late, or just cool celebrations? Let me know, and comment bellow.

People looking like animals

So, do you have a friend, colleague or acquaintance that looks like and animal? Or is that just me? A weird topic I know, but I was sitting in class thinking about how many people I know who actually look like animals, no joke. For example a friend, who we can call squirrel, looks just like one, and I'm not saying this to be mean, he's a very cute squirrel but a squirrel all the same. To make matters worse my friend, squirrel, not only looks like one but can also act like one. He eats biscuits with both hands and slowly nibbles at it in a circular fashion until it's finished, and then he wonders why we call him squirrel.
He's not the only person I know who looks like an animal, there is this guy back in Peru, who I don’t particularly like but I know him and he knows me. One day a friend and him got in a fight and she called him an "anchoveta" (Spanish for Anchovy), after that we all started to realize that… he looks like a fish, not necessarily an anchovy, more like a mix between a flounder and a sword fish, I know its not easy to imagine but trust me he looks just like it. Now I think I sound really mean but (this will sound completely messed up) he's not that bad! Actually to many girls he's really 'Hot'… ok moving on…
The last thing I'm going to talk about in this post is that… I'm scared… like panicking. You know people say that dogs look like their owners? Well… my dog is a Boston Terrier and… they aren't exactly the most... how do I put this, they aren't most flattering animal to be compared to. So what do you think? Do all owners look like their dogs? Comment below :D

Thanks for still reading :)
Next entry wont be so random :)

A new country, a new start, a new blog.

A new country, a new start, a new blog.

Hi. I don’t really know what to say… well…. I guess I should start with the basics. I'm a ninth grade student in Venezuela, and I have to write a blog for my English class. I'm half British half Mexican and I'm living here in Venezuela. I'm fairly tall (according to my friends, but I think they are just short… don’t tell them I said that though.) I have dark brown hair and dark brown eyes, and I am very pale.
Maybe I should tell you my likes and dislikes as well, so that you know more about my personality. I love to play the drums (even though I'm not very good) because it just calms me down and I can completely let loose all my emotions. I also like to read but I don’t always have enough time (or I just don’t make time for it.) I also really enjoy drama and theater. I don’t particularly like to act (I'm too shy),but I love helping out backstage or even better, helping with directing. The most important things to me are my friends (they are what gives me an incentive to work hard as I know if I do well, then I will be able to go and visit them more often,) my dog and obviously my family.
What else? Oh yea, I watch movies all the time, at least one a week, normally two and on the holidays I have managed to watch up to nineteen in a week. Enough about my likes, and now, what don’t I like? Well… actually… a lot of things! I don’t like sport, well I enjoy climbing and cricket but only with my friends, I don’t really like the sport in its self and I absolutely hate anyone who discriminates or is a bully, I really don’t get what they find amusing or entertaining about causing some one else to feel bad about themselves. That’s about all you really need to know about me I think. So now I should really stop talking about me and more about the blog, don’t you think?

I've been wanting to start writing a blog for a while now but I never did because I had no idea what to write or I just gave up, so I'm glad that I get the chance to do one now, even if it is for my English class, in a way that’s even better because it means I cant give up (as it is part of my homework). I don’t really know what I'll be writing about just yet, I guess just random things that have to do with my life. Probably some reviews on web sites, bands movies or TV shows that I find interesting, I will also be writing about my life in general, like trips abroad, missing my friends, school and things like that. I have no idea if it will be any good at all but I do hope at least someone enjoys it. Yea, I guess that’s my goal, to get at least one person to really enjoy my blogs because then I know that its worth it, even for that one person and it will give me an incentive to work harder on it.

Oops I got a bit carried away, it has gotten a bit long don’t you think? Especially for just an introductory entry, oh well I'll just try and hurry it up a bit. I think I have written all you really need to know about me and this blog, I really do hope you like it and I'll try to keep it as interesting as I can for you. I forgot to tell you I will be posting an entry once a week. I think that’s it. I'm looking forward to getting in to the blog, I hope you are too. Thanks for reading!
